Sales Engineers are the primary technical resource for the sales team. They are responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales, technology and marketing teams as the key technical advisor and product advocate for our products.
Must be able to identify all technical issues of assigned accounts to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process and client relationship. Must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships throughout business cycle.

Job requirements

Ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in software sales and knowledge of technology. Comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base. Must possess strong presentation skills and be able to communicate professionally in written responses to emails, RFPs, and when submitting reports. Organized and analytical, able to eliminate obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches. Must be willing to travel.
  • 3-5+ years relevant experience in vendor sales
  • B.S. in Computer Science or related field is preferred
  • Knowledge of multifamily apartment industry or other real estate experience, and experience as application engineer, field consultant, pre-sales support, area support engineer or sales engineer a plus
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), phone, problem solving and people skills
  • Proven track record of successfully working within a team
  • Strong office abilities including Microsoft Office proficiency, accurate typing skills, and strong attention to clear organization
  • Ability to work in a diverse environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, while meeting regular deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, work independently, and take initiative
  • Demonstrated ability to influence client opinions and actions

Job responsibilities

  • Searching for new clients who might benefit from company products or services and maximize customer potential
  • Travelling to visit potential and existing clients
  • Manage and interpret customer requirements - speaking with clients to understand, anticipate and meet their needs
  • Provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education
  • Help in design of custom-made products
  • Develop and deliver product demonstrations
  • Represent the product to customers and prospects at field events such as conferences and seminars
  • Respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RPIs
  • Analyze client’s current and future needs and present product plan
  • Build and maintain strong, healthy client relationships, generate new opportunities
  • Update and maintain accurate customer data
  • Provide marketplace feedback and competitive intelligence to internal groups to improve and enhance product offerings
  • Establish and build strong customer relationships over time that allow for continuity, and provides ongoing representation reinforced by communications to other relevant company functions/divisions
